Julian Donnelly – Managing Director
Julian is managing director of James Rosa Associates Ltd – a firm specialising in “tailored financial reconstruction” which involves debt advice to individuals and businesses, insolvency support, assisted personal bankruptcy, and negotiated settlements. James Rosa Associates Ltd also offers civil and commercial mediation services. Please see here for a profile specific to mediation.
Julian spent 9 years at a major high street bank and then moved on to gain a wide variety of corporate experience in different sectors. Following a relationship breakdown and then redundancy, Julian entered the insolvency industry as a client going through personal bankruptcy.
Julian engaged a professional firm to assist him through his bankruptcy and later, went to work for them using his personal experience to help others. It became clear that there were many people in need of help and that other solutions needs to be in the “tool bag”.
James Rosa Associates Ltd was founded to help struggling companies (and in particular, their owners/directors) through financial difficulty (as well as private individuals) with the primary of goal of giving whole of market advice. The focus in-house remained personal bankruptcy and negotiated settlements, but great time and care was taken to forge relationships with trusted professionals so that James Rosa Associates Ltd (through its partner network) could be a “one stop shop” utilising a tailored firm-based approach. As ADR (alternative dispute resolution) became more and more commonplace, civil and commercial mediation was subsequently added to our suite of services.
Building a senior team with a wide range of skills and experience gave James Rosa Associates Ltd a platform which is hard to match. Today, the focus remains to provide a bespoke service to a small number of selected clients which all come through recommendation and referral.
Julian is a former spokesman of bankruptcyhelp.org.uk and spent 2008 in that capacity with most of his time spent giving pro-bono advice on the helpline and web forum.
Julian is an accredited civil and commercial mediator and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb) and a Member (MABRP) of R3 (also sit on their Personal Insolvency Committee), the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. Julian is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (FCICM) and a Member of the Society of Mediators (MSoM).
