Take action now to avoid a Christmas debt nightmare

By Mr Bankruptcy

16th October 2019

In August I talked about the importance of supporting vulnerable clients with debt management. Many different factors can cause that vulnerability and the approach of Christmas will only add to the pressure that many people will be under due to unmanageable debt, making us all feel that little more vulnerable.

Whether you already have debts which are causing you concern or feel you’re heading towards a debt situation you want to avoid, the thought of the additional expense of the festive season is just going to add to your worries. Talking about debt  is not easy but I would always encourage people to take steps to do so and start addressing their concerns as soon as possible. Leaving it until after the most expensive time of year may mean you just have a bigger problem to deal with later.

Vulnerable clients come to us with debts that have occurred for a range of different reasons, but in each case, we strongly believe that our collaborative approach to find the right solution for our client’s circumstances, and for their creditors, has been instrumental in bringing many people to a better situation. In this way, we continue to help our clients take back control of their debt matters.

An award-winning debt service recognised by the TRI Awards

This approach to our work is very important to me, so to recognised for our level of service both to clients and creditors means a lot to us. That’s why we’re delighted to be on the shortlist for this year’s Turnaround, Restructuring & Insolvency (TRI) Awards Personal Debt Solution Provider of the Year. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on 13th November at the Hilton London, Bankside.

We are also a finalist in the 2019 Collections & Customer Service Awards, in the Debt Advice Provider of the Year category. We’re particularly proud because this award is for those who go above and beyond the conduct and compliance requirements set by our industry regulator to support.

It acknowledges the importance of the communications strategy and skills we employ to work with all sides. These two principals underpin our approach to working with vulnerable clients.
